The natural lifespan of a cow is 20 to 25 years though very few today are allowed to live longer than 4 or 5 years. The Somagosala cows eat only organic food, pure well water, clover, and other special treats like alfalfa sprouts. They graze all summer on pesticide-free grass. They have never been subjected to drugs, pesticides, growth hormones, or antibiotics. The cows enjoy the shelter of a beautiful wooden barn built according to the principals of Maharishi Vastu® Architecture***.

1. Cows are allowed to live out their full life span of life.
2. Cows are nurtured, respected and treated with kindness.
3. Young calves are allowed to stay with their mothers and nurse from them for at least 4-6 months.
4. Cows enjoy organic feed and are allowed to graze freely on pasture.
